Yes, this is generally possible. However, make sure the collar—especially the paracord—dries completely after contact with water. However, we don't specifically recommend using it as a water collar, as the paracord can fade over time.
Simply rinse the collar with water. For more stubborn dirt, you can use mild soap. Please avoid aggressive cleaning agents and rough brushes to avoid damaging the paracord and to preserve the colors for a long time.
No, your dog will still be safe on the trail. We use very strong knots that are neatly fused on the back. Loosening is extremely unlikely. And even in the unlikely event that the paracord comes loose, the underlying BioThane collar remains fully intact and ready for use.
