⚙️ CONTROLLED & THOUGHT-OUT
Every Bark Chain comes with a retaining ring as a choke stop.
It limits the tightening of the chain and ensures controlled application.
Optionally, you can add a carabiner if you want more flexibility.
📏 CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE
This chain is put on over the head and cannot be opened.
👉 Therefore, be sure to measure the widest part of the head (including ears) – not the neck.
For easy on and off, we recommend:
+3–5 cm to the measured head circumference
Example:
50 cm measured → choose 53–55 cm

Please only use a leash if your furry friend is very well leash-trained and does not pull.
We say this not because the breaking load couldn't withstand it, but because with thin collars, the pressure when pulling cannot be distributed evenly and over a large area. Thus, there is a risk of injury to the dog.

Hanging points
Due to the coating process, hanging points at the ends AND between the links are completely normal and unavoidable. Wherever there are points of contact, no powder can reach and thus no color.
Wear and tear
Due to friction, whether between the individual links or even by a leash, wear and tear naturally occurs. This is also completely normal and unavoidable. Depending on how intensively you use the chain, wear and tear can occur faster.
Color notice on wear and tear
Due to different pigment compositions of the respective colors, metallic colors and neon colors wear out faster, especially between the links, than standard colors. This may also apply to very light standard colors. This is normal and unavoidable.
Care
Chain collars do not require intensive care. Nevertheless, it is worthwhile to clean your chains with clear water again and again, especially if a lot of dirt settles between the links or after bathing fun in the sea. Additional dirt particles can lead to higher friction and therefore faster wear and tear.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
This collar does not require any special care. However, it should be rinsed regularly with water, especially if you have been in the sea. Salt or other dirt particles between the links can increase friction and cause faster wear. This means that a used look can be achieved more quickly.

Yes, that's perfectly normal. Where friction occurs or where the links are hung , no powder coating can last .
Even with very high-quality paints and careful workmanship, this effect cannot be completely avoided – it is part of normal wear and tear on coated chains. However, the function remains unaffected.
Yes and no.
Collars that can tighten endlessly are not permitted in Germany under the Animal Welfare Act.
This applies to all variants regardless of the material – i.e., chain, fabric (retriever leash), or leather.
👉 The stop ring is crucial.
Our Bark Chains are always supplied with a split ring as a stop ring.
You must ensure that this is installed in such a way that the chain cannot tighten further.
❗ Important:
Use without a correctly installed stop ring is not permitted and should be avoided at all costs.
You have several options:
👉 Use a splint ring (recommended)
The ring is positioned so that the chain can only be tightened up to a certain point.
👉 Attach a leash
If you use a leash, the chain also cannot tighten indefinitely.
👉 Attach a carabiner to both O-rings
This also completely prevents tightening.

Each powder coating consists of different particles.
Standard colors (especially dark tones such as black, gray, anthracite) are usually the most durable .
Metallic, glitter, neon, or pearl colors contain special effect pigments that are more sensitive to abrasion. This is not a quality defect, but rather a matter of the nature of these colors.
In short: the more unusual the color, the more sensitive the surface – but of course still of high quality.
Yes! Stainless steel is rustproof—so it's not a problem when exposed to water.
However, we recommend rinsing the collar with clean water after use, e.g. at the beach or lake, to remove dirt or sand.
This prevents additional friction and ensures that the coating stays beautiful for longer.
Animal welfare compliant:
Our chains are non-choking . They have a snap hook that prevents them from tightening – unlike traditional choke collars or even prong collars.
This means they are compatible with German animal protection law .
FCI/dog sport compliant:
For many dog sports or tests, chain collars are required , which must be long and single-linked – to ensure that no aids can be hidden .
Our CHAIN collars meet exactly these requirements.
💡 The snap hook is also allowed – according to the FCI there is no exclusion as long as the visibility of the neck is guaranteed.
→ Rinse it regularly with clean water, especially after exposure to sand, mud, or salt water. Dry it thoroughly and store it in a dry place. No care products are necessary for stainless steel – for coated versions, you can apply a little clear wax to maintain its shine.
